Earlier this year the Florida Family Association started a campaign against ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars because as they said “using salacious and glamorizing scenes portraying young, pretty women as lesbians sends the wrong message to these young girls, a message that reinforces and legitimizes this homosexual lifestyle in a manner that could affect these young girls’ sexual identity for a lifetime.”.
I happened to catch the show last week and although I really don’t know the characters and there were a few scenes where two girls were fighting over one of them cheating there was an overall tone of the show I didn’t like.
Now you have to figure this show is drama and they are pushing the edge a little bit but the characters in the show were really cut throat. One girl was blind and three others were debating if her getting her vision back was “ok for them”.. .. some weird older guy was taking pictures of one of the girls and two others were debating if they should warn her or let something bad happen to her….
Its not a pretty show.
Probably the lesbianism is the least of its problems however … its all thrown in there to provoke feelings.. one way or the other.
Anyway I would still rather watch that show then the hate rants on MSNBC but GM, General Mills and a few others think its time to walk away from the show.
I don’t know.. maybe its more about money then the lesbianism… but it is strange how some advertisers pick and choose which networks and shows they will advertise on.. .. you know its all money though.
Anyway back to Holly Combs…. a couple of her tweets today… well shes a little ticked off but instead of just getting mad it seems shes joining the team… HA!

Like I said I don’t watch the show and having seen it a couple times when it first came out then once last week I probably won’t be tuning in any time soon but when you are dealing with actual teens you got to tred lightly.
Are the advertisers right? is the show right?… don’t really care cuz i’m not watching anyway… but a lot of people do.
